Windows 7 is the newest version of Windows and even though it hasn’t been out a year yet it is very popular. There are lots of problems which affect users of windows 7, one f the most common complaints is because the operating system is slow.
We’re going to look at five tips which can be used to make your computer much quicker and more reliable. By making your computer more reliable you will have much more fun using it.
Tip 1: Registry Scanning
First you should try to clean the registry as a way to speed up your windows computer. Registry scanners can be used to clean your computer up. The registry is a large database which consists of various settings required to run your computer. If the registry is corrupt or damaged it will need to be fixed.
Registry scanners will help to back up the registry and then remove entries which aren’t needed.
Tip 2: Simplifying Windows 7
Windows 7 is a very advanced operating system which has lots of sophisticated features. Most of these features are visual effects and so are not essential. Aero for example is a wonderful visual effect however it consumes a lot of your computers resources. Turn off Aero by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Personalize. Then choose Windows 7 basic to turn the aero effects off.
When your computer loads it will automatically load a number of different applications and services. This will consume some of your computers speed. Click on start -> start and enter msconfig. Then turn off the services and files that you don’t want to load.
Tip 3: Viruses
A virus scanner can be used to search through your computer looking for any viruses. Viruses will consume your computers resources and slow it down. Use a virus scanner and spyware scanner to check your computer is free of all malware.
Malware doesn’t just slow your computer down but it might also generate lots of computer errors.
Tip 4: Updating Windows
Even though windows 7 is new there are still plenty of updates which can be installed. Make sure that windows update is turned on and working. This will automatically update your computer and ensure that various errors and problems are automatically dealt with.
Tip 5: Hardware Updates
Windows 7 is a very demanding operating system and requires state of the art hardware to run. If you are having trouble running windows 7 then you should upgrade your hardware. Windows 7 will not run very well on older machines.
Windows 7 is a great operating system and as long as it is working properly you should be able to have fun using it.
