Dealing with Error Code 10

• Hardware Errors and Faults

Error Code 10 is an extremely common error which can affect all versions of windows. This error is generated because the computer isn’t able to start a certain piece of hardware. This is also sometimes issued as a general error if the computer doesn’t know what the problem is.

There are so many different causes of the error that you will need to try and identify this so that you can choose the right solution. Take a look at the guide below and follow the steps to rid your computer of the annoying error.

1. Simply Reboot your PC
   Sometimes if you reboot your computer will mean that you never see the same error again. If this is the case then there’s no point trying to fix it because there isn’t really anything wrong.
2. Roll Back Changes
   If you installed a new piece of hardware then this will be the suspected culprit. Try removing the hardware from your computer and looking at whether this has resolved the issue.

   Also if you changed the drivers recently then you might want to use system restore to roll the complete system back to an earlier time.

3. Reinstalling Hardware Drivers
   Find out which piece of hardware in your computer is generating the error and reinstall the drivers again. This should correct the problem if it is caused as a result of corrupt computer drivers. It’s a good idea to try installing new updated drivers as a way to correct the error.
4. Windows Update
   Perform the windows update and make sure you select the latest updates. This can do a lot to improve the stability and reliability of your computer.
5. Replace Hardware
   The problem could also be a result of hardware faults. In this case you will need to replace the hardware. Replacing the hardware is expensive however it will hopefully mean that you never see the same error again.
