As Error Code 10 can be caused by a number of different problems there are a number of different steps which can be used to rectify it. Follow each of these steps to find out how to resolve the problem and make your computer more reliable.
- Restarting your Computer
The first thing that you should try to do is restart your computer. It’s amazing just how many computer errors can be resolved by simply restarting your computer. If you don’t see the error again then it’s nothing to worry about. - Undo Changes
If you recently installed any hardware or changed the drivers on your computer then you should try undoing the changes and restarting your computer. Find out whether or not this fixes the problem. - Reinstalling Drivers
Look in the device manager to find out which piece of hardware is causing the error. Try reinstalling the drivers using the drivers which came with your device. This will resolve any problems with corrupt drivers. - Updating Drivers
Sometimes the problem can be caused as a result of using outdated drivers. Download the updated drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install them. Avoid using drivers included in Windows because these won’t always work. - Updating Windows
It’s also worth trying to fix the problem by installing the latest windows service packs and updates. These updates will fix various problems with the operating system. - Replacing Hardware
If you’ve exhausted all of the other possibilities then there’s a good chance that the problem is caused as a result of hardware faults. Replace the hardware to find out whether this resolves the error.
Error Code 10 can be very frustrating since it will stop you using your computer properly; however it really doesn’t have to be that way.
