The ccsvchst.exe is a file which is part of the Norton or Symantec security suites. This is installed automatically and is normally nothing to worry about. However there are many errors which can cause problems with this file.

Ccsvchst Error Reasons

The ccsvchst error message will only normally be reported when you first switch your computer on or when you are shutting it down. During normal operation you might notice that it is much slower than normal due to increased CPU loads. The ccsvchst error can result in increased processor load which will slow your computer down.

The most common cause of this problem is because of a very serious bug which is encountered in Norton Antivirus or various other products from Symantec.

As this is a bug in Norton and Symantec products you will normally be able to correct it by using software updates. There are a number of patches which have fixed this problem in the current versions of the software.

If you don’t have any luck with the updates then you might instead prefer to try removing the application by uninstalling it and then reinstalling it again once you’ve finished.

Another important thing to use is a registry scanner as this will improve the speed of your computer and remove any corrupt registry entries.
