Uninstalling Acrobat Reader

If it’s not possible to upgrade Acrobat Reader then you will need to uninstall it. Close all of the files on your computer and making sure that acrobat is shut down. Open up Add/Remove applications and select Acrobat. Then click it and click on Remove to uninstall the application.

Try booting into windows again to see if the problem is resolved.

Manual Uninstall

If it wasn’t possible to uninstall the app automatically using the Add/Remove application then you will need to manually remove it. To do this is simple. Click on Start, Run and type cmd. At the command prompt enter cd c:\program files\adobe\acrobat 5.0\reader\ActiveX

Enter regsvr32 /u AcrolEHelper.ocx and regsvr32 /u uPDF.ocx to unregister these components.

Then you will need to reboot your computer and delete the TypeSpt and Acrobat folders on your computer.

Uninstalling Flash Player

If you are suffering from problems with the splash player then you will need to uninstall it. To do this download the uninstall_flash_player.exe file from the adobe website. You will need to download the version which is right for your operating system.
