A registry scanner can be used to scan through your registry and take a look at any of these problems which might need to be resolved. Always use a registry scanner from a well known source to ensure that it will work properly. Also only do the scan once you have backed the registry up.
Age of Hardware
Windows 7 is the new generation of operations systems. For this to work properly it will need to run on compatible hardware. If your computer is too old then it might not be possible to run windows 7 quickly enough. You can also try turning off some of the enhancements in Windows 7 including Aero.
